AGM & Presentations
The Club's Annual General Meeting and Presentations event is on Sunday, 20th May 2012. The AGM will commence at 3pm and will be followed by Presentations at 4:30pm. If you can't make the meeting then do try and make the presentations as you will be amazed at the number of awards we present to our swimmers.
Where: Bunninyong Community Recreation Centre, Forest St (on the left, past the Buninyong Swimming Pool)
Catering: We share in a meal at the conclusion of the Presentations. The club will supply chickens and we ask families to bring salad or a desert. There will also be a sausage sizzle between the AGM and the Presentations so the kids don't get too hungry!
Who is invited: All club members and their families.
Please think about becoming a part of the committee. It just means attending a meeting once a month (or less if not able to make it) and helping out at GCO events where possible. Nomination form at the bottom of the page.
2012-2013 Membership
For those that were members last year, membership forms have been pre-populated and distributed. Please check all details and return forms with any corrections asap. For new members, forms are available for the current season on pool deck. Forms should be returned with membership payments. There is no need to process any renewals or payments with Swimming Victoria - the club will do this on your behalf.
Everyone is reminded that you need to sign up as a competitor before entering any meets.
2012 NAB Top 5 Series
The dates have been set for the Ballarat Swimming Club's 2012 NAB Top 5 Series. The first of these meets is scheduled for Saturday 26th May. These swim meets are a great experience for all, including our new swimmers.
GCO SC Distance Meet - 17th June 2012
The date has been set for the Club's annual Short Course Distance Meet - Sunday, 17th June 2012. Club members are reminded to keep this date free.

GCO SC Distance Meet - Sunday 19th June
83 swimmers from 13 clubs participated in this event including swimmers from Ballarat, Cheltenham, Gisborne, Melbourne, Melton, Nunawading, Rochester, Bacchus Marsh and Werribee. A big thank you to all who contributed to this meet - preparing for the meet, processing entries, preparing programmes, setting up, catering, on the gate, marshalling, starting, timekeeping, announcing and packing up. A big thank you also to all our officials that worked on the day. We hope all swimmers had a good day. It certainly was pleasing to see some really good PBs.
We had two individuals from the City of Ballarat call in and see part of the days proceedings. Ashley Pittard, Manager Recreation & Open Space Planning and Councillor Ben Taylor. Both were very receptive and had lots of questions about competitive swimming. The club would like to thank Ashley and Ben for their attendance at the meet.
AGM & Awards Presentation, 3:00pm, Sunday 1st May:
The Clubs AGM was held at the Redan Football Club on Sunday, 1st May. There was a good turn up at the AGM and it was pleasing to see some new faces joining the committee. A big thank you to the outgoing committee and welcome to the new committee.
Following the AGM was the club's annual awards presentation and dinner. With the arrival of even more families we saw a great turn out for the remainder of the proceedings. With so many present and so many awards handed out this was a great event and truly a reflection of what makes GCO such a great club. Thank you to Dee for all her efforts in compiling the awards. Thank you to Janine and all who helped with the set up, catering and clean up. We trust that everyone who attended really enjoyed themselves. A big congratulations to all our award recipients.
Awards Booklets for the 2010-2011 season were handed out at the AGM and will be available on pool deck for those that could not make the AGM. There is an allocation of one booklet per family. Booklets not collected by the end of May will be offered to families seeking additional booklets.
